Message from our Secretary

As we come to the mid-point of the year, we are excited to bring you our 2023 Q2 Newsletter packed full of exciting announcements!

As part of each newsletter, we are cycling through our board members so that we can introduce ourselves and show how, we that make up the W.I.S.H. board, have come together to share our passion around STEM.

Just like with several small organizations out there, our board members wear multiple hats to help keep W.I.S.H. up and running. For me, I am not just the secretary of W.I.S.H., but also head up our social media campaigns, maintain our website, help plan and execute our events, and fill in whatever I can when needed. I also get to make fun posters explaining experiments for our classroom outreach programs. It is something that I get just as much out of as I put in, if not more.

It is my hope that as you read through this letter that you are inspired to find something that you can be passionate about. If you are passionate about STEM, like we are, we are always looking for volunteers to help us with our mentorship programs, events, and more. Consider visiting our Take Action page on our website to see all our opportunities!

AND THE WINNERS ARE…

2023 High School STEM Recipients

Kennedi Campbell
Esteban Cecilio

CALLING ALL
SPONSORS AND RUNNERS

With your help, we were able to raise over $10,000 with our 2022 WineSTEM 5K fundraiser, which fully funded our undergraduate scholarships and conference grants for all the recipients above! We are looking forward to doing it again!

Our Third Annual WineSTEM 5k will be held on October 15, 2023 at Etowah River Park in Canton, Georgia.

Funds raised for our 2023 WineSTEM 5K will help W.I.S.H. expand the awards program for our High School STEM scholarships and Conference Grant opportunities from 10 to 15 for 2024.

Any additional funds will go towards W.I.S.H.'s interactive classroom STEM presentations, which we have extended to include both middle and high schools this school year.

Does your business or workplace care about Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics? Does your work culture align with helping individuals get an opportunity to prove themselves and build a career in these fields? If yes, then help us connect to the CSR or HR contacts at your company.

Community Outreach

W.I.S.H. joined the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce to continue our initiative to build connections within the local communities that we serve.

Looking Forward

W.I.S.H. will have their boots on the ground in this next quarter as we gear up for our 3rd annual WineSTEM 5K. Look for us at Canton's First Fridays and Jasper's Second Saturdays
